R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the untimely loss of Donald Crockett of Dallas County, who passed
  away on April 22, 2009, at the age of 57; and
         WHEREAS, Born on December 6, 1951, to McNeal Crockett and
  Nealie Prince Callier in Victoria, Donald Crockett graduated from
  Stroman High School and earned a bachelor's degree in history from
  Huston-Tillotson University in Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Crockett worked for 31 years with the City of
  Dallas Fire and Rescue Department and ably assisted in the agency's
  efforts to protect the lives and property of the city's residents;
  respected by his peers, he was a member of the Dallas Black
  Firefighters Association and the International Association of
  Black Professional Firefighters--South Central Region; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Crockett enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Emma; the couple spent three rewarding
  decades together, raising two daughters, Tiffany and Shenequa, and
  later welcoming into their family a grandson, Bryson; Mr. Crockett
  also took comfort in his faith and played an active role in the
  congregation at Camp Wisdom United Methodist Church in Dallas; and
         WHEREAS, Donald Crockett led a caring and purposeful life,
  and he leaves his loved ones with many fond memories of the happy
  time they spent in his company; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Donald Crockett and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Emma Ward Crockett; to his children, Tiffany and Shenequa Crockett;
  to his grandson, Bryson Don; to his siblings, JoNell Varnado and her
  husband, Vinon, and McNeal Crockett, Jr.; to his nephews, Derrick
  Tate and his wife, Sabrina, Channing Ward, and Vinon P. Varnado; to
  his nieces, Canisha Ward and Destiny Rambo; and to his other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Donald
  Crockett.
