R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Residents of the Lone Star State are gathering in
  support of U.S. soldiers at the Bands for Brothers and Sisters
  Concert on May 23, 2009, in Pasadena; and
         WHEREAS, Hosted by the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes,
  the Bay Area Builders Association, the Pasadena Livestock Show and
  Rodeo, and KILT-FM, the event raises funds for the construction of
  homes for severely wounded service members returning from Iraq and
  Afghanistan; in addition to the concert, the weekend festivities
  include a golf tournament and a black-tie benefit; and
         WHEREAS, The organizations behind this significant effort
  have created a partnership with government agencies,
  manufacturers, private donors, businesses, and volunteers to offer
  housing at no cost to injured American soldiers; the goals of the
  program are to lessen the financial burden for military personnel,
  aid in their recovery, and provide a home for their families; and
         WHEREAS, Our nation's servicemen and servicewomen render
  service and sacrifice that are truly beyond measure, and such
  events as the Bands for Brothers and Sisters Concert help to ensure
  that these brave Americans are duly honored and supported by their
  communities; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 2009 Bands for Brothers and
  Sisters Concert and extend to its organizers and attendees sincere
  best wishes for a memorable and successful event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the host organizations as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
