R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Calhoun County Airport in Port Lavaca has been named |
|
|
the 2009 Most Improved Airport of the Year by the Texas Department |
|
|
of Transportation Aviation Division; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This honor is a fitting tribute to the significant |
|
|
changes that have taken place at the airport in recent years, which |
|
|
include investment in new hangars and above-ground fuel tanks, and |
|
|
a new fueling apron; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The airport has entered into a contract with a new |
|
|
private contractor, Calhoun Air Center, which offers fueling and |
|
|
repair services as well as flight training for both beginning and |
|
|
experienced pilots; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By improving the facilities and the level of |
|
|
service, and by planning for further improvements in the future, |
|
|
Calhoun County Airport has become a vital asset to the county, and |
|
|
the receipt of this prestigious award provides a fitting |
|
|
opportunity to recognize the airport and its dedicated staff; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Calhoun County Airport on being named the |
|
|
2009 Most Improved Airport of the Year by the Texas Department of |
|
|
Transportation Aviation Division and congratulate all those |
|
|
involved with the facility for a job well done; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the airport as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
