R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Friends and family were greatly saddened by the loss |
|
of Rogelio M. Barba of Eagle Pass, who passed away on April 9, 2009, |
|
at the age of 89; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Barba was born on December 2, 1919, to Miguel and |
|
Francisca Barba and grew up in a family of nine children; he |
|
answered his nation's call to duty with service in France and the |
|
Rhineland during World War II; and |
|
WHEREAS, Following the war, Mr. Barba entered into a career |
|
in law enforcement with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, |
|
working there for more than three decades; a former resident of |
|
Houston, he later moved to Eagle Pass, where he had previously spent |
|
vacations with his family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Rogelio Barba was a kind and generous man who |
|
enjoyed sharing his knowledge and wisdom with his many nieces and |
|
nephews, teaching them how to swim, play ball, and drive a car; |
|
although he will be deeply missed, he leaves his loved ones with |
|
countless fond memories of the happy times they spent in his |
|
company; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rogelio M. Barba and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his sister, |
|
Hortencia Barba; to his nieces and nephews; and to his other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rogelio |
|
Barba. |
