R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Clay Allen Craig of |
|
Clarksville, Tennessee, was killed on April 29, 2008, while serving |
|
in Iraq, and he leaves behind a loving family and many friends; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Clay Craig was born |
|
in Dallas and grew up in Mount Pleasant; respectful and |
|
responsible, he worked at a local movie theater while attending |
|
school, and it was there that he met his beloved wife, Cynthia, with |
|
whom he had a daughter, Izabel; and |
|
WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Craig joined the army after |
|
graduating from John Horn High School in 2003; he planned to serve |
|
his country for more than a decade, hoping to retire at 31 to pursue |
|
a teaching career; during his military tenure, he was assigned to |
|
the 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team of |
|
the 101st Airborne Division; he was killed while serving his third |
|
tour of duty in Iraq; and |
|
WHEREAS, Constant in his desire to help others, Clay Craig |
|
embodied the qualities of selflessness and valor, and the loved |
|
ones of this fine young man will forever carry him close in their |
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Staff Sergeant Clay |
|
Allen Craig and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his |
|
family: to his wife, Cynthia Craig; to his daughter, Izabel Craig; |
|
to his mother, Deborah Redfearn; to his father, Roger Craig; to his |
|
sisters and brothers; and to his other relatives and many friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army |
|
Staff Sergeant Clay Allen Craig. |
