R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Specialist Tracy |
|
Clint Willis of San Antonio suffered an immeasurable loss with the |
|
death of this valiant soldier on August 26, 2007, at the age of 21; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute |
|
Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Specialist Willis lost |
|
his life while bravely serving his country in Iraq; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Wilma and Darryl Willis, Tracy Willis |
|
attended O'Connor High School in Helotes, and his talent as an |
|
athlete earned him the position of free safety on the all-district |
|
team; after his graduation in 2004, he went on to attend East Texas |
|
Baptist University, where he continued his football career until |
|
joining the army; and |
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have young men |
|
and women whose love for their country inspires them to military |
|
service, yet the tragic death of this young soldier is a sobering |
|
reminder of the cost of war; Specialist Willis embodied the highest |
|
ideals of the U.S. armed forces, and all who knew and loved him will |
|
forever carry him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Specialist Tracy |
|
Clint Willis and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |
|
family: to his parents, Wilma and Darryl Willis; to his siblings, |
|
Hope, Crystal, Darryl and his wife, Rita, Anjelica, and Aubree; to |
|
his niece, Amari Willis; to his grandparents, Cruz M. Camacho, Mary |
|
Johnson, and Curtis Wilson; and to his other relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army |
|
Specialist Tracy Clint Willis. |
