R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Aurora Corona Solis has been named a 2009 Unsung |
|
|
Hero by the Galveston County Daily News for her outstanding |
|
|
contributions to her community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, "Dolly" Solis is an active volunteer with The Jesse |
|
|
Tree, a program that provides seniors with hot meals as well as help |
|
|
with technology, nutrition, and health-related issues; she also |
|
|
volunteers with the Hospice Care Team, visiting patients and |
|
|
providing respite care so their loved ones may have a little time |
|
|
away from their caregiving duties; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A Galveston native, Mrs. Solis lovingly raised a |
|
|
family of five while working full-time; even in difficult financial |
|
|
times, she would share meals with neighbors, and she has set a |
|
|
wonderful example for her 11 grandchildren and 14 |
|
|
great-grandchildren with her kindness and compassion; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their |
|
|
time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude, |
|
|
and it is a pleasure to honor Dolly Solis, who has enriched the |
|
|
lives of countless Gulf Coast residents with her dedicated |
|
|
community service; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Aurora Corona Solis on being named |
|
|
a 2009 Unsung Hero by the Galveston County Daily News and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important |
|
|
work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Solis as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
