R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Frank and Nora Benavides of Beeville celebrated
  their 55th wedding anniversary on December 20, 2008, and they may
  indeed reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have
  shared; and
         WHEREAS, Francisco Benavides and the former Lenora Rosales
  exchanged the vows of matrimony on that special day in 1953, and
  over the course of their marriage, they have found in one another a
  loving life partner; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Benavides answered his nation's call to duty
  with service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; Mrs. Benavides
  has worked for more than six decades in the restaurant business and
  opened her own eatery, Mi Familia Restaurant, in 1993; and
         WHEREAS, This admirable couple count among their blessings a
  fine family that today includes their sons, Frank, George, and
  Larry, and their daughter, Nora Alice, as well as eight
  grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, For more than half a century, Frank and Nora
  Benavides have brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and
  devotion, and it is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Frank and Nora Benavides on the
  occasion of their 55th wedding anniversary and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Benavides as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
