R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Mark Jedow of Winston Churchill High School in San |
|
|
Antonio has been named 2009 Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year by |
|
|
the San Antonio Express-News; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After winning three state titles at Reagan High |
|
|
School, Coach Jedow moved to Churchill High for the 2008-2009 |
|
|
season, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of the legendary |
|
|
Al Marks; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Rising to the challenge, Coach Jedow led his squads |
|
|
to regional and district titles and very strong performances at the |
|
|
state meet; the Chargers girls' team claimed a silver medal at |
|
|
state, and the boys' team finished the season as the fifth-place |
|
|
team in Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exceptional coaches inspire athletes to perform at |
|
|
the peak of their abilities, and Mark Jedow's commitment to |
|
|
excellence indeed makes him a most deserving recipient of this |
|
|
award; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mark Jedow on being named 2009 |
|
|
Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year by the San Antonio |
|
|
Express-News and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Coach Jedow as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
