R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Gina Dylla of Sandra Day O'Connor High School in |
|
Helotes has been named the 2009 Girls Soccer Coach of the Year by |
|
the San Antonio Express-News; and |
|
WHEREAS, In four years as a head coach, Coach Dylla has |
|
compiled an impressive record of 87 wins, 18 losses, and 4 draws; |
|
under her inspired leadership, the O'Connor Panthers claimed their |
|
first District 28-5A championship in six years and advanced to the |
|
third round of the playoffs for only the fourth time in school |
|
history; and |
|
WHEREAS, After gaining experience at Southwest and Burbank |
|
High Schools, Coach Dylla made immediate and sweeping changes to |
|
the Panthers team when she became the O'Connor coach at the |
|
beginning of the 2008-2009 season, moving players to different |
|
positions from those they had previously played; at the end of the |
|
season, her rearranged squad held a record of 17 wins and 4 draws |
|
with only 3 losses, including a 20-game streak without a loss; and |
|
WHEREAS, Exceptional coaches inspire athletes to perform at |
|
the peak of their abilities, and Gina Dylla's commitment to |
|
excellence indeed makes her a most deserving recipient of this |
|
award; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gina Dylla on being named 2009 |
|
Girls Soccer Coach of the Year by the San Antonio Express-News and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Coach Dylla as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
