R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Four employees from North Loop Elementary School in |
|
El Paso worked together to save the life of a woman and aid her |
|
family during a house fire on April 1, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, When a house went up in flames near the school, a |
|
seven-year-old North Loop student called to the school custodians |
|
for help; and |
|
WHEREAS, Thinking quickly and working together, Rafael |
|
Camacho and Everardo Chacon broke a window and went inside to rescue |
|
a woman from the burning house; and |
|
WHEREAS, Meanwhile, Rita Espinoza called 911 and comforted |
|
the little girl, while Lorena Gonzales assisted other family |
|
members fleeing the house; and |
|
WHEREAS, For their bravery and compassion, Mr. Camacho, Mr. |
|
Chacon, Ms. Espinoza, and Ms. Gonzales have been recognized with |
|
certificates from the El Paso Fire Department, and they may indeed |
|
take pride in their swift and selfless action to aid a family in |
|
need; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Rafael Camacho, Everardo Chacon, Rita |
|
Espinoza, and Lorena Gonzales for their courageous efforts on April |
|
1, 2009, and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the rescuers as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
