R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of United States Marine Lance |
|
Corporal Javier Perales, Jr., suffered an immeasurable loss when he |
|
died in Iraq on June 11, 2008, at the age of 19; and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, 2nd |
|
Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune, |
|
North Carolina, Lance Corporal Perales died while serving his |
|
country in Al Anbar Province, Iraq; and |
|
WHEREAS, Javier Perales was born on February 17, 1989, to |
|
Javier and Carolina Perales; he attended Alarcon Elementary School |
|
and San Elizario Middle School, and he graduated from San Elizario |
|
High School, where he earned academic recognitions; and |
|
WHEREAS, A devoted son and brother, he was a young man of |
|
strong religious faith and an active member of San Elizario |
|
Catholic Church, where he served as a teacher's aide in the Sunday |
|
school; and |
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have young men |
|
and women whose love of country leads them to service in the |
|
military, and time can never diminish the profound debt that |
|
Americans owe to Lance Corporal Perales; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lance Corporal Javier |
|
Perales, Jr., and extend sincere condolences to the members of his |
|
family: to his parents, Javier Perales, Sr., and Carolina Perales; |
|
to his brothers, Fernando Perales and Ricardo Perales; and to his |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Javier |
|
Perales, Jr. |
