R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of United States Marine Lance
  Corporal Javier Perales, Jr., suffered an immeasurable loss when he
  died in Iraq on June 11, 2008, at the age of 19; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, 2nd
  Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune,
  North Carolina, Lance Corporal Perales died while serving his
  country in Al Anbar Province, Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, Javier Perales was born on February 17, 1989, to
  Javier and Carolina Perales; he attended Alarcon Elementary School
  and San Elizario Middle School, and he graduated from San Elizario
  High School, where he earned academic recognitions; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted son and brother, he was a young man of
  strong religious faith and an active member of San Elizario
  Catholic Church, where he served as a teacher's aide in the Sunday
  school; and
         WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have young men
  and women whose love of country leads them to service in the
  military, and time can never diminish the profound debt that
  Americans owe to Lance Corporal Perales; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lance Corporal Javier
  Perales, Jr., and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his parents, Javier Perales, Sr., and Carolina Perales;
  to his brothers, Fernando Perales and Ricardo Perales; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Javier
  Perales, Jr.
