R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the loss of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Juan F. Campos of McAllen, who
  died on June 1, 2007, at the age of 27; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry
  Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Sergeant
  Campos was based at Schweinfurt, Germany; he died at Brooke Army
  Medical Center in San Antonio from wounds he had sustained during an
  attack on his unit on May 14, 2007, in Baghdad; he had been bravely
  serving his second tour of duty in Iraq, and he was posthumously
  awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Houston on November 28, 1979, to Santos and
  Maria Campos, Juan Campos went on to graduate from high school in
  McAllen, and in 2000, he met his future wife, Jamie Drury-Campos; a
  loving husband and father, Sergeant Campos brought joy and laughter
  into the lives of his family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the United States
  armed forces, Sergeant Campos inspired others with his leadership
  and courage; although he is deeply missed, he will forever be
  treasured in the hearts of his loved ones; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Staff
  Sergeant Juan F. Campos and extend sincere sympathy to all those who
  mourn his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army
  Staff Sergeant Juan F. Campos.
