R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Corporal Scott |
|
Alexander McIntosh of Houston suffered an immeasurable loss with |
|
the death of this courageous young man on March 10, 2008, at the age |
|
of 26; and |
|
WHEREAS, Corporal McIntosh was killed while bravely serving |
|
his country during combat operations in Iraq as a member of the 1st |
|
Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd |
|
Infantry Division, based at Fort Stewart, Georgia; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Humble on February 4, 1982, Scott McIntosh |
|
was a valued member of St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, where he was |
|
active in the Senior EYC youth group and served as an acolyte for |
|
six years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to duty, honor, |
|
and this country, Corporal McIntosh embodied the highest ideals of |
|
the armed services, and the memory of his love and friendship will |
|
be forever treasured by those who were privileged to know him; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Corporal |
|
Scott Alexander McIntosh and extend deepest sympathy to the members |
|
of his family: to his parents, Alexander and Gwenn McIntosh; to his |
|
brother, Eric McIntosh; to his grandparents, Patricia Whelen and |
|
her husband, Thomas, and Dottie Collier; to his uncles, Lawrence |
|
McIntosh, Jr., and Joseph Collier; and to his other relatives and |
|
many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Corporal |
|
Scott Alexander McIntosh. |
