R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of United States Army Staff |
|
Sergeant Brandon Wade Farley of Haworth, Oklahoma, suffered an |
|
immeasurable loss with the death of this valiant soldier on |
|
September 18, 2008, at the age of 30; and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry |
|
Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Staff |
|
Sergeant Farley lost his life while bravely serving in Afghanistan; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Sulphur Springs, Brandon Farley lived in |
|
Cleburne before moving to Haworth, where he graduated from high |
|
school; he subsequently fulfilled a desire to serve his country |
|
when he joined the Marines and later the U.S. Army; after four |
|
years, which included a tour in Iraq, he reenlisted and was again |
|
deployed to the Middle East; and |
|
WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Farley was a beloved son and brother; |
|
a football fan and avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, shooting, |
|
and four-wheeling; and |
|
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|
forces, Brandon Farley inspired others with his courage, and |
|
although his passing has left a void in the lives of those who were |
|
fortunate enough to know him, they will forever carry his memory |
|
close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Staff |
|
Sergeant Brandon Wade Farley and extend sincere sympathy to the |
|
members of his family: to his mother, Sherry Farley; to his father, |
|
Wade Farley; to his brother, Corey Farley; to his sisters, Ashlyn |
|
and Lauren Farley; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Staff |
|
Sergeant Brandon Wade Farley. |
