R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The friends and family of U.S. Marine Corporal James
  Heath McRae of Springtown suffered an immeasurable loss with his
  death on July 24, 2007, at the age of 22; and
         WHEREAS, Corporal McRae was killed in Iraq while serving with
  the 3rd Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3rd
  Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force; and
         WHEREAS, The beloved son of Rhonda and Bill McRae, Heath
  McRae was born on July 6, 1985, and he learned at an early age to fix
  fences, work cattle, and repair boat and car engines by watching and
  working closely with his dad; he attended Springtown High School,
  where he demonstrated a talent for music as a trombonist in the
  marching and jazz bands; in his free time, he also enjoyed hunting
  and fishing, and especially playing his guitar, and he was beloved
  by his friends for his pranks and his memorable antics; and
         WHEREAS, Corporal McRae earned a music scholarship to
  Weatherford College, studying for a year before joining the marines
  in December 2003; he was a diesel mechanic serving in Japan before
  he was deployed to Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
  forces, James McRae inspired others with his leadership and
  courage; although his death leaves a void in the lives of his loved
  ones, they will forever carry his memory close in their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Marine Corporal
  James Heath McRae and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his parents, Rhonda and Bill McRae; to his sisters, Misty
  Rix and Amy Styles; and to his other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Marine
  Corporal James Heath McRae.
