R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Specialist James |
|
Lee Adair of Carthage suffered an immeasurable loss with the death |
|
of this valiant soldier in Iraq on June 29, 2007, at the age of 26; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry |
|
Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, |
|
based at Fort Riley, Kansas, Specialist Adair lost his life while |
|
bravely serving his country in Baghdad; and |
|
WHEREAS, Lee Adair was born on November 16, 1980, in Cameron |
|
County and grew up in Carthage, where he was a member of American |
|
Legion Post No. 353; in 2006, he married the former Chelsea Nation, |
|
and at the time of his passing, he eagerly awaited the birth of his |
|
first child, Avery Lee; and |
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to our nation's |
|
servicemen and servicewomen, whose courageous efforts and enormous |
|
sacrifices are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest respect |
|
and gratitude; through his unwavering dedication to duty and honor, |
|
James Lee Adair embodied the highest ideals of the United States |
|
Army, and memories of his love and friendship will forever be |
|
cherished by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor the memory of U.S. Army Specialist James |
|
Lee Adair and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: |
|
to his wife, Chelsea Adair; to his daughter, Avery Lee Adair; to his |
|
father, Jimmy Adair; to his mother, Risa Adair; to his sister, |
|
Amanda Townsend; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Specialist |
|
James Lee Adair. |
