H.R. No. 2397

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, June 23, 2009, marks a special milestone for the
family of Shila Grace Gill, for on that day this adorable little
girl celebrates her second birthday; and
WHEREAS, The second child of questionable parents, to wit,
Raman Gill and Robert Doggett of Austin, "Shi-Shi" has already
proven to be a child with perfect timing, unlike her older sister,
  Reva Rose, who was born in the middle of a legislative session;
indeed, living up to her middle name, Shi-Shi had the grace to be
born shortly after the 80th Legislature adjourned sine die, when it
was too late for the governor to veto her passage; and
WHEREAS, This dynamic and vivacious young Texan has also
inherited from her lawyer parents a capacity for guile and cunning,
having proven to be an excellent lollipop thief, and though she has
not yet learned enough words to engage her parents in verbal combat,
she has already proven fully capable of taking bold and decisive
physical action to ensure that her wishes are fulfilled; and
WHEREAS, Bright, charming, and certain of what she both does
and doesn't want, Shila Grace Gill has brought great joy to all
those who are privileged to watch her grow and learn, and it is
indeed a pleasure to join her family and friends in commemorating
this exciting event; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Shila Grace Gill on her second
birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for a bright and
happy future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Shila and her parents as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
