R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt
  at the loss of U.S. Army First Lieutenant Jeremy Ray of Houston, who
  died in Iraq on December 20, 2007, at the age of 26; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry
  Regiment out of Fort Hood, First Lieutenant Ray died of wounds
  suffered from an explosive device in Kanaan; and
         WHEREAS, Jeremy Ray was a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M
  University, where he was a member of Company H-1 of the Corps of
  Cadets; known as a quiet yet confident young man, he loved the
  outdoors and playing the guitar; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
  forces, Jeremy Ray inspired others with his leadership and courage,
  and his fellow citizens owe him a profound debt of gratitude that
  the passage of time can never diminish; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of First Lieutenant
  Jeremy Ray and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his parents, Randy and Debbie Ray; to his brother, Justin
  Ray, and his wife, Allison; to his grandmother, Essie Ray; and to
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeremy Ray.
