R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt |
|
at the loss of U.S. Army First Lieutenant Jeremy Ray of Houston, who |
|
died in Iraq on December 20, 2007, at the age of 26; and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry |
|
Regiment out of Fort Hood, First Lieutenant Ray died of wounds |
|
suffered from an explosive device in Kanaan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jeremy Ray was a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M |
|
University, where he was a member of Company H-1 of the Corps of |
|
Cadets; known as a quiet yet confident young man, he loved the |
|
outdoors and playing the guitar; and |
|
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|
forces, Jeremy Ray inspired others with his leadership and courage, |
|
and his fellow citizens owe him a profound debt of gratitude that |
|
the passage of time can never diminish; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of First Lieutenant |
|
Jeremy Ray and extend sincere condolences to the members of his |
|
family: to his parents, Randy and Debbie Ray; to his brother, Justin |
|
Ray, and his wife, Allison; to his grandmother, Essie Ray; and to |
|
his other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeremy Ray. |
