R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Sergeant Chris
  Davis of Lubbock suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of
  this valiant soldier in Iraq on June 23, 2007, at the age of 35; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment,
  3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, out of Fort
  Benning, Georgia, Sergeant Davis was killed in Baghdad when his
  unit was attacked by insurgents; and
         WHEREAS, Chris Davis was born in Lubbock on October 25, 1971,
  to Raymond and Hermina Davis; a graduate of Estacado High School, he
  enlisted in the Army in 1999 and served four tours of duty in Iraq;
  and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Davis's medals and commendations included
  the Army Commendation Medal, three Army Achievement Medals, the
  Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the
  Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, and many
  others; and
         WHEREAS, Beloved by his family for his good humor and high
  spirits, he dedicated his life to the service of his family and his
  nation, inspiring others with his leadership and courage; although
  his death has left a void in the lives of his loved ones, they will
  forever carry his memory close in their hearts; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Chris Davis
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Debbie Davis; to his parents, Raymond and Hermina Davis; to
  his daughters, Taylor Davis and Casey Joy Davis; to his son,
  Christian Davis; to his stepson, Zachary Davis; to his brothers,
  David Davis and Raymond Davis; to his sisters, Sandra Segura,
  Margaret Davis, Sheila Ochoa, Eva Villa, Cindy Davis, Becky
  Vasquez, and Brenda Davis; and to his other relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army
  Sergeant Chris Davis.
