R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The birth of Sophia Renee Winder to David and Renee
  Winder of Midland, Michigan, on April 30, 2008, represented a
  joyous and miraculous occasion; and
         WHEREAS, Making her way into the world at 10:35 a.m. on that
  special day, Sophia weighed in at 9 pounds, 6 ounces, measured
  20-1/2 inches in length, and immediately captivated her parents
  with her alert and inquisitive manner; and
         WHEREAS, Blessed with a beautiful smile and an outgoing
  personality, this charming baby girl has already brightened the
  lives of everyone around her, including her big sister, Saje, and
  her doting grandparents, John and Linda Winder of Angleton and
  Cindy Carter of Garland; and
         WHEREAS, Although Sophia Renee Winder missed the opportunity
  to be born in the Lone Star State because her father, a
  seventh-generation Texan, had been transferred to Michigan by his
  employer, her parents immediately put a Texas flag blanket in her
  bassinet and are strongly committed to teaching her all about her
  Texas heritage and the state's rich history; and
         WHEREAS, Sophia Renee Winder was born into a wonderful,
  close-knit family who will continue to love and cherish her and
  guide her throughout the fascinating journey of her life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the birth of Sophia Renee Winder and
  extend sincere congratulations to David and Renee Winder on their
  new daughter; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
