R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned six |
|
decades, Carl and Louise Threadgill of Robinson celebrated their |
|
60th wedding anniversary on August 2, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Carl Threadgill and the former Leta Louise Braden |
|
exchanged the vows of matrimony in Waco on that special day in 1947, |
|
and over the course of their marriage they have found in each other |
|
a devoted life partner; Mr. Threadgill served in the U.S. armed |
|
forces during World War II and is retired from the U.S. Postal |
|
Service; Mrs. Threadgill worked for the regional office of the U.S. |
|
Department of Veterans Affairs and is retired; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Threadgill count among their blessings |
|
a fine family that includes their children, Carleta Reichert and |
|
her husband, Rick, Susan Shreffler and her husband, Sam, and Philip |
|
Threadgill and his wife, Terri, as well as five grandchildren, |
|
David, Jennifer, Steven, Cameron, and Ryan, with whom they treasure |
|
sharing the many special occasions of life; and |
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past 60 years, Carl and Louise |
|
Threadgill can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and know |
|
that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that many |
|
more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Carl and Louise Threadgill on the |
|
occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Threadgill as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
