R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned six
  decades, Carl and Louise Threadgill of Robinson celebrated their
  60th wedding anniversary on August 2, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Carl Threadgill and the former Leta Louise Braden
  exchanged the vows of matrimony in Waco on that special day in 1947,
  and over the course of their marriage they have found in each other
  a devoted life partner; Mr. Threadgill served in the U.S. armed
  forces during World War II and is retired from the U.S. Postal
  Service; Mrs. Threadgill worked for the regional office of the U.S.
  Department of Veterans Affairs and is retired; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Threadgill count among their blessings
  a fine family that includes their children, Carleta Reichert and
  her husband, Rick, Susan Shreffler and her husband, Sam, and Philip
  Threadgill and his wife, Terri, as well as five grandchildren,
  David, Jennifer, Steven, Cameron, and Ryan, with whom they treasure
  sharing the many special occasions of life; and
         WHEREAS, Looking back over the past 60 years, Carl and Louise
  Threadgill can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and know
  that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that many
  more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Carl and Louise Threadgill on the
  occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Threadgill as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
