R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
and shared experiences, and George and Ruth Erickson of Waco |
|
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on February 6, |
|
2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, George Erickson and the former Ruth Walkup were |
|
joined in matrimony in Richland, Missouri, in 1944; through the |
|
years they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes |
|
two daughters, Eileen Bright and her husband, David, and Margaret |
|
Riddle and her husband, Eric, as well as three granddaughters, |
|
Sarah, Angela, and Shelley, and a great-granddaughter, Devon; and |
|
WHEREAS, Respected and active members of their community, Mr. |
|
Erickson is retired from MKT Railroad and Mrs. Erickson retired |
|
from Moody Memorial Library at Baylor University; the couple enjoy |
|
traveling and are members of First United Methodist Church in Waco; |
|
Mr. Erickson has been an amateur radio operator for more than 70 |
|
years and Mrs. Erickson enjoys genealogy research; and |
|
WHEREAS, George and Ruth Erickson have shared more than six |
|
decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are |
|
among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a |
|
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate George and Ruth Erickson on their |
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Erickson as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
