R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sandra K. Henry of Rocksprings has demonstrated an |
|
exemplary commitment to public service as the county and district |
|
clerk for Edwards County; and |
|
WHEREAS, Appointed to complete an unexpired term in September |
|
2007, Ms. Henry worked diligently in the subsequent year to perform |
|
her duties, which included serving as elections administrator and |
|
preparing for the 2008 presidential election; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Henry was born in Pennsylvania and moved to San |
|
Antonio with her family at the age of three when her father was |
|
stationed at Brooks Air Force Base; she graduated from Texas |
|
Lutheran College in 1983 and went on to serve in increasingly |
|
responsible professional capacities with both major corporations |
|
and public school systems, eventually becoming a computer |
|
technician, a software instructor, and a human resources director; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A Rocksprings resident since 2005, Ms. Henry has |
|
lived in more than six states as well as in Germany and Italy, and |
|
she has given generously of her time and talents through the years |
|
to help others; she served as an American Red Cross caseworker and |
|
as vice chair of volunteers in Naples, Italy, and assisted her |
|
husband, John J. Henry, during his 30 years as an educator; in |
|
addition, she volunteered at community events, taught Sunday |
|
school, and sang in her church choir; she and her husband are the |
|
proud parents of a daughter, Keri Lynn Wittie; and |
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and Sandra |
|
Henry can indeed take pride in her notable efforts in behalf of her |
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Sandra K. Henry for her service to |
|
Edwards County and extend to her best wishes for success in her |
|
future endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Henry as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
