R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Diana Wilt is celebrating a significant milestone in
  her life on May 29, 2009, as she graduates from Grand Saline High
  School; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Wilt's efforts in the classroom earned her a
  Spanish 3 Award, a commendation on her math TAKS test performance,
  and the title of Student of the Month; an active participant in
  student government, she has served on the student council for four
  years, including a tenure as secretary/treasurer, and she was
  elected class president in her freshman, junior, and senior years;
  she has also been a valued member of the Spanish Club and FFA; and
         WHEREAS, A talented athlete as well, Ms. Wilt has excelled in
  basketball, track, and volleyball, and she earned a volleyball
  scholarship to Western Texas College; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Wilt has been recognized by her peers with her
  selection as Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class Favorite, and she
  was also awarded the titles of Homecoming Queen, Miss GSHS, and Most
  Athletic; and
         WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has shared her time and
  energy to support those less fortunate within her community; her
  efforts have benefited the local Head Start program, the Salvation
  Army, the Red Cross, and a number of initiatives to provide
  Christmas gifts for the needy; she has also assisted with local
  blood drives, veterans' appreciation events, and voter
  registration campaigns; and
         WHEREAS, With her exceptional academic record, athletic
  achievements, and contributions to her school and community, Diana
  Wilt has earned the respect and admiration of all who know her, and
  she may indeed look with optimism toward a bright and promising
  future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Diana Wilt on her graduation from
  Grand Saline High School and that she be extended sincere best
  wishes for continued success in all of her endeavors; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Wilt as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
