R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Bennice and LaVerne Johnson of Woodway celebrated |
|
their 50th wedding anniversary on July 25, 2007, and they may indeed |
|
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Bennice Johnson and the former LaVerne Meeck |
|
exchanged the vows of matrimony in Palestine, Texas, in 1957, and |
|
over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a |
|
loving life partner; Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Army, taught at |
|
Huntsville High School, and worked for CertainTeed and Temple |
|
Products before retiring as a safety coordinator at |
|
Lochridge-Priest; Mrs. Johnson retired after 27 years of service to |
|
CertainTeed Federal Credit Union; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson count among their blessings a |
|
fine family that includes their children, Craig Johnson and his |
|
wife, Holly, and Keith Johnson and his wife, Brenda, as well as |
|
three grandchildren, Benjamin, Nicholas, and Dean, with whom they |
|
share the many special occasions of life; the couple are members of |
|
Peace Lutheran Church, work with the Lutheran Braille Workers, and |
|
serve on several church boards; and |
|
WHEREAS, For half a century, Bennice and LaVerne Johnson have |
|
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it |
|
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bennice and LaVerne Johnson on |
|
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
