R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Kent Willis of Grapeland has earned a Congressional |
|
Award Gold Medal, and his outstanding achievement is being |
|
recognized on June 25, 2009, at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.; and |
|
WHEREAS, Bestowed by the United States Congress, this |
|
prestigious accolade honors young Americans who have completed 400 |
|
hours of voluntary public service, 200 hours of personal |
|
development, 200 hours of physical fitness, and a four-night, |
|
five-day expedition/exploration; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Willis completed the rigorous requirements |
|
within 24 months, excelling in each standard outlined for the |
|
noncompetitive award, which encourages goal-setting and |
|
achievement; and |
|
WHEREAS, By earning a Congressional Award Gold Medal, Kent |
|
Willis has demonstrated remarkable initiative and determination, |
|
as well as a steadfast commitment to serving his community, and he |
|
is truly a worthy role model for his fellow young Texans; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kent Willis on earning a 2009 |
|
Congressional Award Gold Medal and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Willis as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
