R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The city of Garland has greatly benefited from the |
|
|
dedicated leadership of District 6 council member Barbara Chick; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her tenure in municipal government, |
|
|
Councilwoman Chick has ably guided the city with an eye to the |
|
|
future, and her knowledge and expertise in a wide range of community |
|
|
issues have earned her the respect of many people along the way; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This notable North Texan is currently serving her |
|
|
second term, and she is working to help her district benefit from |
|
|
the city's redevelopment goals; a valued Garland resident since |
|
|
1950, she is retired from her position as a bank assistant vice |
|
|
president; she has also given back to her community as a member of |
|
|
the Plan Commission and the West Area Plan Implementation |
|
|
Committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Chick is supported in all her endeavors by her |
|
|
husband, Don, and their two children; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
|
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and Barbara |
|
|
Chick is helping to make Garland an even better place in which to |
|
|
live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Councilwoman Barbara Chick for her |
|
|
outstanding service on the Garland City Council and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Chick as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
