R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Linda Koop has ably served the people of Dallas as
  the city council member for District 11 since 2005, and her
  achievements have earned her widespread respect and appreciation;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Koop, a lifelong resident of Dallas, holds a
  bachelor's degree in sociology from Colorado State University and a
  master's degree in international management studies from The
  University of Texas at Dallas; she has experience as a city and
  regional planner, and from 1976 to 2003, she was co-owner of
  National Shoes; and
         WHEREAS, Now serving her second term on the city council, Ms.
  Koop has distinguished herself as chair of the council's
  Transportation and Environment Committee and as a member of the
  Economic Development, Housing, and Trinity River Corridor Project
  Committees; long active in regional transportation issues, she has
  served on the board of directors of Dallas Area Rapid Transit and as
  chair of the Regional Transportation Council of the North Central
  Texas Council of Governments; and
         WHEREAS, Linda Koop has made many significant contributions
  to the betterment of life in Dallas as a member of the city council,
  and she merits special recognition for her dedication and efforts
  in behalf of her fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Linda Koop on her service as a member of
  the Dallas City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Koop as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
