R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Linda Koop has ably served the people of Dallas as |
|
|
the city council member for District 11 since 2005, and her |
|
|
achievements have earned her widespread respect and appreciation; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Koop, a lifelong resident of Dallas, holds a |
|
|
bachelor's degree in sociology from Colorado State University and a |
|
|
master's degree in international management studies from The |
|
|
University of Texas at Dallas; she has experience as a city and |
|
|
regional planner, and from 1976 to 2003, she was co-owner of |
|
|
National Shoes; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Now serving her second term on the city council, Ms. |
|
|
Koop has distinguished herself as chair of the council's |
|
|
Transportation and Environment Committee and as a member of the |
|
|
Economic Development, Housing, and Trinity River Corridor Project |
|
|
Committees; long active in regional transportation issues, she has |
|
|
served on the board of directors of Dallas Area Rapid Transit and as |
|
|
chair of the Regional Transportation Council of the North Central |
|
|
Texas Council of Governments; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Linda Koop has made many significant contributions |
|
|
to the betterment of life in Dallas as a member of the city council, |
|
|
and she merits special recognition for her dedication and efforts |
|
|
in behalf of her fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Linda Koop on her service as a member of |
|
|
the Dallas City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Koop as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
