R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, United States Army Captain Robert Clayton Hinchman
  of Angleton is an outstanding young American who is indeed worthy of
  recognition for his accomplishments while serving in this nation's
  armed forces; and
         WHEREAS, A 2001 graduate of Angleton High School, Clayton
  Hinchman accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at
  West Point, where he was commissioned a second lieutenant on
  graduation; after serving as a rifle platoon leader for 22 months,
  he was injured on May 10, 2008, losing a leg to a roadside bomb
  during a night operations air assault mission northeast of Baghdad;
  today, Captain Hinchman is once again leading an active life with
  the assistance of a state-of-the-art computerized leg, and he is
  continuing to serve as an officer while completing his recovery at
  Walter Reed Army Medical Center; this strong and caring soldier
  also recently spent time helping kindergarten students at a school
  field day in his hometown; and
         WHEREAS, Although the Purple Heart was one award he never
  wanted to earn, Captain Clayton Hinchman is an inspiration to all
  who know him, and he has earned the gratitude and admiration of his
  fellow Americans for his remarkable strength, courage, and
  patriotism; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Captain Robert Clayton Hinchman for his
  valiant service to our country and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Captain Hinchman as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
