R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, James and Ruby Hollis celebrated their |
|
50th wedding anniversary on April 21, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, James Hollis and the former Ruby Compton were united |
|
in matrimony in Oklahoma in 1959; through the years, they have |
|
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
the addition of two children, Todd Hollis and Leann Crawford, as |
|
well as four grandsons, Thomas Crawford, John Crawford, Coye |
|
Hollis, and Jordan Hollis, and two great-granddaughters, Jawslyn |
|
and Leslie; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hollis have lived in Mineola for more |
|
than four decades, and they own and operate the Bargain Barn Antique |
|
Store; and |
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate James and Ruby Hollis on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hollis as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
