R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Anthony M. Brown of San Antonio has earned great |
|
|
distinction by being named a scholar finalist in the National |
|
|
Hispanic Recognition Program for 2008-2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An initiative of the College Board, the National |
|
|
Hispanic Recognition Program honors those Hispanic students who |
|
|
score well on the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholar Qualifying |
|
|
Test and who maintain a satisfactory grade point average; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Brown is a senior at John Marshall High School, |
|
|
where he has been a member of the varsity football team and the |
|
|
National Honor Society, as well as a District All-Academic nominee; |
|
|
he plans to attend The University of Texas and earn a master's |
|
|
degree in computer science; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Soon to embark on an exciting new chapter in his |
|
|
life, Anthony Brown may indeed reflect with pride on all that he has |
|
|
achieved and look with anticipation toward a bright and promising |
|
|
future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Anthony M. Brown on his selection |
|
|
as a scholar finalist in the 2008-2009 National Hispanic |
|
|
Recognition Program and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
