R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |
|
the loss of U.S. Army Sergeant Danny Richard Soto, who died on June |
|
16, 2007, at the age of 24; and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery |
|
Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Sergeant Soto was |
|
killed while bravely serving his country in Iraq; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Honduras, Danny Soto moved to Texas with |
|
his family at the age of 11; a loving husband and father, he brought |
|
joy and laughter into the lives of his family and friends; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Soto exemplified the highest ideals of the |
|
United States armed forces, inspiring others with his leadership |
|
and courage; although he is deeply missed, he will forever be |
|
treasured in the hearts of his loved ones; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Sergeant |
|
Danny Richard Soto and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |
|
family: to his wife, Vanessa; to his son, Jonathan Raymond Soto; to |
|
his mother, Marina Horsford; to his sisters, Marci and Joanna Soto; |
|
and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army |
|
Sergeant Danny Richard Soto. |
