R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the heartache felt |
|
at the loss of U.S. Army Private First Class Andrew Travis Engstrom |
|
of Slaton, who died on July 4, 2007, at the age of 22; and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery |
|
Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort |
|
Hood, Private Engstrom lost his life in Taji, Iraq; and |
|
WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and |
|
women whose love for their country inspires them to take up military |
|
service, yet the tragic death of this brave young man is a sobering |
|
reminder of the cost of war; and |
|
WHEREAS, Time does not erase the profound debt that Americans |
|
owe to our nation's servicemen and servicewomen for their |
|
courageous efforts and enormous sacrifices; the death of Andrew |
|
Engstrom has left a void in the lives of his loved ones, but they |
|
will forever carry his memory close in their hearts; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Private First Class |
|
Andrew Engstrom and extend sincere condolences to all those who |
|
mourn his passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army |
|
Private First Class Andrew Travis Engstrom. |
