R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Cassie Lynee Harper, a seventh grader at O. P. |
|
Norman Junior High School in Kaufman, was inducted into the |
|
National Junior Honor Society on May 18, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, An outstanding student, Ms. Harper has maintained a |
|
high grade point average, consistently earning A's and B's and |
|
achieving honor roll status all year, and she has challenged |
|
herself by enrolling in honors and advanced placement courses; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Harper has also participated in extracurricular |
|
activities and community service; she is a member of the yearbook |
|
staff and a basketball player, and for the past eight years, she has |
|
trained in ballet, jazz, and lyrical dance; she has also been |
|
involved in her church and has embarked on mission trips, and she |
|
has volunteered at a local women's shelter; and |
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated |
|
perseverance, self-discipline, and a strong commitment to |
|
excellence, and she may indeed look with anticipation toward a |
|
bright and promising future; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cassie Lynee Harper on her |
|
induction into the National Junior Honor Society and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Harper as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
