R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Matthew Ashley has ably served his fellow Texans as |
|
|
an intern in the office of State Representative Tommy Merritt |
|
|
during the 81st Legislature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An undergraduate at The University of Texas at |
|
|
Austin, Mr. Ashley is majoring in government and is an active member |
|
|
of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity; the son of proud parents Dan and |
|
|
Leslie Ashley, he is a native of McKinney, where he graduated from |
|
|
McKinney North High School in 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his internship in the office of |
|
|
Representative Merritt, this noteworthy young Texan has |
|
|
contributed to the workings of state government firsthand; in |
|
|
addition to enhancing his knowledge of the legislative process and |
|
|
the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, he has gained |
|
|
valuable work experience in the field of public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Matthew Ashley has performed his duties as a |
|
|
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Matthew Ashley for his service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Tommy |
|
|
Merritt and extend to him warmest best wishes for success in all his |
|
|
future endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Ashley as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
