R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Joe and Ora Williams of Midland |
|
celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on April 20, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, Joe L. Williams and the former Ora Lee Johnson were |
|
united in matrimony in Midland in 1953; through the years, they have |
|
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
the addition of four children, Robert, Joe, Janice, and Loree, as |
|
well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams worked at a chemical company for 26 |
|
years before establishing his own trucking business in 1983; he |
|
retired in 2002, and today he is a member of Tall City Lions Club and |
|
a deacon at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where the |
|
couple are both members; Mrs. Williams has been a dedicated |
|
homemaker throughout their marriage; and |
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
world during the past 56 years, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Ora Williams on their 56th |
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Williams as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
