R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Phil and Glenda Houston of El Campo |
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 27, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, Philip Clay Houston, Jr., and the former Glenda Jo |
|
Morrison were united in matrimony at the First United Methodist |
|
Church in Lubbock in 1959, and through the years, they have found in |
|
each other a devoted life partner; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Houston count among their blessings a |
|
fine family that includes their children, Karl Houston and his |
|
wife, Rhonda, Kenneth Houston and his wife, Pamela, and Kirk |
|
Houston and his wife, Tamara, and six grandchildren, Justin and |
|
Kimberly Jo Houston Piwetz, Kenneth John Houston, Philip Clay |
|
Houston III, Alice Marie Houston, and Paul Michael Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
world during the past five decades, this devoted husband and wife |
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Phil and Glenda Houston on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Houston as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
