R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Beverly
  Ann Jackson, who passed away on April 29, 2009, at the age of 75; and
         WHEREAS, Born on December 26, 1933, to Charles and Zoura
  Jayne Beavers, the former Beverly Beavers graduated from Lamar High
  School and attended the University of Houston; she married Neal
  Jackson and the couple enjoyed 56 rewarding years of matrimony and
  raised three daughters, Lee Ann, Dodie, and Molly, and a son, Chip,
  who preceded his mother in death; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Jackson blazed many trails in the course of her
  life, becoming the first woman elected to the Pasadena City Council
  and serving as a founder of the San Jacinto Day Foundation, the San
  Jacinto Day Parade, and the Pasadena Strawberry Festival; moreover,
  she was very active for many years in the Pasadena Rotary Anns; and
         WHEREAS, A career educator and administrator, Mrs. Jackson
  served as headmistress for St. Barnabas Episcopal Day School for 25
  years before founding the Carden-Jackson School in Pearland, and
  she continued to oversee its operations until her death; and
         WHEREAS, Through her many contributions to her family and her
  community, Beverly Jackson left an indelible mark on the world
  around her, and she will be deeply missed by all those who shared in
  the richness of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Beverly Ann Jackson
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Neal Allen Jackson; to her daughters, Lee Ann Jackson,
  Beverly Ann "Dodie" Jackson, and Molly Blair Young and her husband,
  Michael; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Beverly
  Jackson.
