R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Sergeant First |
|
Class Miguel Antonio Wilson of Bonham suffered an immeasurable loss |
|
with the death of this valiant soldier on November 21, 2008, at the |
|
age of 36; and |
|
WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry |
|
Regiment, Sergeant Wilson was killed while saving the life of a |
|
fellow soldier in Abu Sayf, Iraq; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on December 26, 1971, to Wanda Wilson and |
|
Michael Cook, he graduated from Bonham High School in 1990, |
|
married, and became the father of three children, Bryce, J'Nai, and |
|
Lexus; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Wilson joined the military in January 1997, |
|
and his skill and dedication to duty earned him many honors, |
|
including the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation |
|
Medal, and Army Achievement Medal; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to duty and honor, |
|
Miguel Wilson embodied the highest ideals of the United States |
|
armed forces, and his fellow citizens owe him a debt of gratitude |
|
that the passage of time can never diminish; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Sergeant |
|
First Class Miguel Antonio Wilson and extend sincere sympathy to |
|
the members of his family: to his wife, Carolyn; to his children, |
|
Bryce, J'Nai, and Lexus Wilson; to his parents, Wanda Wilson and |
|
Michael Cook; to his sisters, Simone Nickerson, Christy Cook, and |
|
Nikki Jackson; to his brothers, Matthew and Michael Cook and Chris |
|
and Joshua Harris; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sergeant |
|
First Class Miguel Antonio Wilson. |
