R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends of U.S. Army Chief Warrant
  Officer 2 Corry Ardel Edwards of Kennedale suffered an immeasurable
  loss with his death in Iraq on September 18, 2008, at the age of 38;
  and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 149th Aviation
  Regiment, 36th Combat Aviation Brigade, Texas Army National Guard,
  out of Grand Prairie, Chief Warrant Officer Edwards was a longtime
  member of the Texas Army National Guard and had previously served in
  Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2003 and 2004; he was killed when his
  helicopter went down near Tallil and was promoted posthumously to
  chief warrant officer 2; and
         WHEREAS, Corry Edwards was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma, on
  September 23, 1969, and graduated from Sam Houston High School in
  Arlington in 1988; he earned his paramedic certification in 1994
  and was employed by American Medical Response the following year;
  in 1997, he went to work for the Dallas Army Aviation Support
  Facility; and
         WHEREAS, Greatly admired for his strength of character and
  for his kind and helpful nature, Chief Warrant Officer Edwards
  earned the respect of his fellow soldiers and the affection of all
  who knew him; and
         WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and
  women whose love of country inspires them to take up military
  service; Corry Edwards embodied the highest ideals of the U.S.
  armed forces, and although he is deeply missed, his loved ones will
  forever carry his memory close in their hearts; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Chief Warrant Officer
  2 Corry Ardel Edwards and extend sincere condolences to the members
  of his family: to his wife, Nannette; to his sons, Killian Hunter
  Edwards and Logan Samuel Edwards; to his parents, Charlie and
  Glenda Hamilton; to his sister, Samantha Simpson; to his niece,
  Hailey Bothel; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Corry Ardel
  Edwards.
