R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Beasley has contributed greatly to the |
|
betterment of her community for many years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Galveston, Ms. Beasley has lived in Houston |
|
for more than four decades; until her retirement, she worked in |
|
retail and as an aide at St. Joseph Medical Center; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her work with the Southcrest Community |
|
Improvement Association, including service as the association's |
|
president, Ms. Beasley has played a vital role in enhancing the |
|
quality of life enjoyed by her fellow citizens; and |
|
WHEREAS, A woman of strong religious faith, she has been |
|
active in Wesley Chapel AME Church, serving as a lay worker, as a |
|
volunteer in the church nursery, and as the "coffee lady"; and |
|
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Beasley has distinguished herself as an |
|
engaged and caring individual who gives generously of her time and |
|
energy in behalf of others, and she may indeed take pride in the |
|
positive impact she has made in the lives of her friends and |
|
neighbors; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Elizabeth Beasley on her service to her |
|
community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Beasley as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
