R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Mary Seamore of Houston has distinguished herself |
|
through her contributions to her community, and her outstanding |
|
civic leadership has earned her the deep admiration of all who know |
|
her; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Seamore has worked tirelessly to increase voter |
|
participation; in addition, she has served the Harris County |
|
Democratic Party as an assistant to Billie Carr, and she is a member |
|
of the Houston Black Coalition of Democrats, the State Democratic |
|
Executive Committee, and Texas Democratic Women; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Seamore was born in Washington, Louisiana, and |
|
earned her bachelor's degree in political science from the |
|
University of Houston; she is retired from her position in the child |
|
support division of the office of the attorney general; and |
|
WHEREAS, The loving mother of one son, James Duncan, Ms. |
|
Seamore is a valued member of Riverside United Methodist Church, |
|
where she serves on the stewardship committee; and |
|
WHEREAS, Politically engaged citizens play an indispensible |
|
role in a democratic society, and through her expertise and |
|
dedication, Mary Seamore has served her community, her state, and |
|
her nation, setting an example of excellence to which all may |
|
aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Mary Seamore for her civic involvement and |
|
noteworthy accomplishments and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Seamore as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
