R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Reverend Darrell Martin of Houston has
  distinguished himself through his service to the community, and his
  outstanding leadership and generosity of spirit have earned him the
  heartfelt admiration of all who know him; and
         WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, Reverend Martin
  graduated from Kashmere High School and began a notable career in
  radio that includes service as station manager of KWWJ and the
  establishment of the Martin Broadcasting Network; over the years,
  he has benefited his fellow residents by filling the airwaves with
  uplifting gospel music; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Martin has also made a positive difference
  as a leader in the congregation at New Day Deliverance Holiness
  Church; devoted to his wife, Brenda, and their three children, he
  values living a healthy lifestyle and enjoys cheering on the
  Rockets in his free time; and
         WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their
  time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude,
  and it is a pleasure to honor Reverend Martin, who has enriched the
  lives of countless others with his dedicated community service;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the Reverend Darrell Martin for his
  noteworthy service to the people of Houston and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Reverend Martin as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
