R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, For more than three decades, Rabbi Joseph Ruben
  Radinsky of the United Orthodox Synagogues of Houston has
  faithfully served the spiritual needs of his community, and his
  genuine regard for the welfare of others has enriched the lives of
  countless people; and
         WHEREAS, Rabbi Radinsky studied at Yeshiva University and
  earned a master's degree in English from the University of
  Washington and a master's in comparative literature from Harvard
  University; he was ordained by the Hebrew Theological College; and
         WHEREAS, In 1976, Rabbi Radinsky joined the United Orthodox
  Synagogues of Houston; during his distinguished service as rabbi,
  he chaired the Houston Kashruth Association, the Houston Chevra
  Kadisha, and the Rabbinic Cabinet of the Houston Israel Bonds, and
  he was a member of the executive board of the Rabbinical Council of
  America and of the UJA Rabbinic Cabinet; he has also served as
  president of the Kallah of Texas Rabbis and of the Houston Rabbinic
  Association; in 2003, he accepted emeritus status; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic leader has published nine volumes of
  his theological work Torah Concepts; a devoted family man, he is
  supported in all his endeavors by his wife, Juliette Radinsky, and
  their 3 children and 11 grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Rabbi Radinsky has demonstrated a wholehearted
  commitment to the United Orthodox Synagogues of Houston and to the
  wider community, and his faith, scholarship, and many good works
  have been a source of profound inspiration to all who know him; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Rabbi Joseph Radinsky for his service to
  the community and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Rabbi Radinsky as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
