R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Pastor Jeff Berger of Houston is making a |
|
significant contribution to the betterment of his community as a |
|
dedicated clergyman and caring citizen; and |
|
WHEREAS, Pastor Berger earned a bachelor's degree in radio |
|
and television from the University of Houston in 1992, a master of |
|
divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in |
|
Fort Worth in 1996, and a doctor of ministry degree from New Orleans |
|
Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since answering the call from Westbury Baptist |
|
Church, Pastor Berger has led a vibrant congregation and overseen a |
|
host of church ministries; one of the newest outreach endeavors is |
|
Westbury's adoption of McNamara Elementary School; at the end of |
|
the first year of this partnership, Reverend Berger and the |
|
Westbury church family have already made a positive difference at |
|
McNamara, where a number of volunteers from the church have shared |
|
their time and energy to assist the students, teachers, and staff; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Pastor Berger enjoys the love and support of a |
|
treasured family, whose members include his wife, Carrie, daughter, |
|
Kayleigh, and son, Will; and |
|
WHEREAS, Pastor Jeff Berger has demonstrated a wholehearted |
|
commitment to his congregation and the wider community, and his |
|
faith, teaching, and many good works are a source of inspiration to |
|
all who know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Pastor Jeff Berger for his contributions |
|
to the citizens of Houston and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Pastor Berger as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
