R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Catherine Block has provided |
|
indispensable support to the office of State Representative Angie |
|
Chen Button during the 81st Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, An accomplished young woman, Ms. Block attended The |
|
University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a bachelor of |
|
business administration degree with honors and a bachelor's degree |
|
in liberal arts from the Plan II Honors program; along the way, she |
|
also studied at the School for International Training in |
|
Switzerland; in fall 2009, she plans to enter Columbia Law School |
|
for which she has been awarded the Alexander Hamilton Fellowship; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Block has gained a range of experience through |
|
the years, distinguishing herself as an intern with The Texas |
|
Observer, ACORN, and the Texas Fair Trade Coalition, among other |
|
organizations; in addition to her position as a legislative aide, |
|
she serves as a writing coach for the Act on School of Business; and |
|
WHEREAS, By sharing her unique perspective on issues and |
|
contributing numerous hours of hard work, Elizabeth Block has |
|
helped to ensure that the constituents of House District 112 and the |
|
citizens of the Lone Star State are well served, and she is indeed |
|
deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Elizabeth Catherine Block for her |
|
contributions to the office of State Representative Angie Chen |
|
Button and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
as she pursues her degree from Columbia Law School; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Block as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
