R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The friends and family of Waxahachie resident Joseph
  Edmund Lane were deeply saddened by his passing on January 15, 2009,
  at the age of 80; and
         WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mr. Lane was born on
  October 15, 1928, in Wichita Falls, where he attended the Academy of
  Mary Immaculate and Reagan High School; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Lane served a notable 37-year tenure with
  Texaco; he joined the company in 1951, and he worked as a pipeliner,
  station operator, and station supervisor before his retirement in
  1988; and
         WHEREAS, Joseph Lane lived a rewarding and purposeful life,
  and memories of time spent in his company will be forever treasured
  by all who had the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joseph Edmund Lane and
  extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Doris; to his children, Joel and Kaye Lane, Danny and Sandy Lane,
  Connie and Sam Boone, Andy and Janice Lane, Steve and Lisa Lane,
  Valerie and Rex McCallister, and Teena and Darrell Moore; to the
  mother of his children, Marcella Lane; to his 17 grandchildren and
  eight great-grandchildren; to his stepchildren, Jay Lee and Sharon
  Beck, Cindy and Steve Buchanan, and Gerald and Natalie Beck; to his
  eight step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; to
  his brother, C. L. Lane; to his sister-in-law, Mrs. James Lane; and
  to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joseph
  Edmund Lane.
